Blogger's Quilt Festival, May 2014

Hi there,


This is Spring Dragonflies. It was designed for the Narragansett Bay Quilter's Guild annual quilt show, Miniature Quilt Auction. It was machine pieced with hand appliqued Dragonflys. The size is approximately 16 inch square.

If you are in the neighborhood, there is a lovely Tulip Show in Albany, N.Y. today. I was lucky enough to attend yesterday and snap a few pictures. 

2014 NBQA Quilt Show

      The Narragansett Quilters Association's bi-annual quilt show was last weekend and, as usual, the quilts were fabulous.  I have added some of my favorites here.

 

 

   

 

 

      Unfortunately, with class schedules, I was unable to produce any work for the show. Perhaps next show, in 2016!

Small Quilt Auction Tomorrow

Spring Dragonflies has been completed and delivered to the chairperson of the Small Quilt Auction to held this weekend at the Narragansett Bay Quilters Association to benefit the New England Quilt Museum.  The overall size is only 16 x 16 inches. It is machine pieced with Tiffany inspired, hand applique dragon flies. There is very simple straight line quilting. The backing is an overall purple flower print and the binding is a solid purple. 

 

The quilt show is to be held this weekend at the North Kingston High School. There are always wonderful quilts on display. This year there is a lecture and truck show by R.I.' s own, award winning, Christine Bagley. Her traditional and art quilts are just fabulous! There was an advanced review of her lecture last night at the guild meeting. Her work in fiber reflects her wonderful and diverse personality. Her lecture takes us on her creative journey and is infused with humor and emotion.
