Big Star Quilt Top

First completed quilt top during retirement! 

     Started 6/27/2024. Top completed 7/4/2024.

Free Pattern provided by Sew Can She - Big Star Quilt

Materials - 1 layer cake and 2.5 yards of tan background fabric

Pattern is written for 8 inch finished block size which results in the quilt's finished size 64 x 64.

By using a layer cake, my block finished at 9 inch. Quilt size 72.5 x 72.5

NBQA Summer Challenge

Mid May, 2023

We received a bag of fabric to make a donation quilt and a matching pillowcase. Pattern and design were up to us.

We have until our next meeting, Mid-September, to complete.

Drawing the Quilt First

Here are the first thoughts, drawn out and made into quilts.

This nine patch has been completed and gifted to take the place of one of the first quilts I made for my sister in the early 1990's. The original was made with a high loft batting and was tied, not quilted. (2.5 inch squares unfinished)

Leader and ender throughout the health emergency. The top is finally completed. When it is quilted, it will forever be known as my COVID Quilt. (1.5 inch squares unfinished)

Recently started as a Leader and Ender project, this top was finished quickly as the squares are 4.5 inch unfinished.
